Supporting menstrual health through Safe Flow
The Safe Flow Project ran from October 2023 to February 2024 in Adaklu-Ablornu and Sogakope-Fievie, with support from Plan International Ghana. It reached 393 beneficiaries through work focused on menstrual hygiene, waste management, and adolescent health advocacy.
Education and community conversations
Community engagement and radio sensitization raised awareness of menstrual health and promoted the safe disposal of sanitary products. The project also strengthened adolescent clubs and equipped girls with knowledge to challenge menstrual stigma.
Continuing the conversation
Menstrual health remains part of SMART Hub’s work. From January to June 2026, Reach for Her brought school-based education, community dialogues, sanitary pad distribution, and three Dignity Banks to Afadjato South District. Both projects highlight the value of combining health education with community support.
